Guitarist and composer Brian Citro (ears&eyes Records, The Drastics) reunites with drummer, composer Quin Kirchner (founder, Spacetone Recordings) in a new quartet featuring alto saxophonist Nick Mazzarella (Natural Information Society, Nick Mazzarella Trio and Quintet) and bassist Matt Ulery (Woolgathering Records, Quin Kirchner Group). Earlier, Brian and Quinn made music as Salamander with saxophonist, electronic musician, and bandoneonist Charles Gorczynski. Coming off his recent release on ears&eyes Records — Acoustic Pastime: Solo Guitar — and a monthly solo guitar residency at The Whistler, Brian’s written new music for the quartet with rich, accessible melodies, unique song structures, and a wide range of rhythms and feels. The group also performs music by Thelonious Monk, Stevie Wonder, and Band of Horses.
